Expanding the Pool of Teachers Policy
New legislation in Nevada removes restrictions on the usage and providers of the state's alternate route.
Although specific guidelines have yet to be developed by the Commission on Professional Standards, Nevada now articulates that "education and training may be provided by any qualified provider including, without limitation, institutions of higher education and other providers that operate independently of an institution of higher education."
Further, the new legislation does not appear to place any subject-area, grade-level or geographic restrictions on the usage of Nevada's alternate route.
