Over at
Profit of Education, our good friend Dick Startz makes some
interesting projections about how the proposed CAEP standard requiring programs to ensure new cohorts average in the top third of those passing a nationally normed test, such as the SAT, may affect admissions to ed schools. Given how important ed schools are to universities' and colleges'
bottom line, we're wondering how they will adjust. Will this cause programs to actually admit fewer students (as Startz's model projects) or creatively recruit more selective candidates?
