Hats off to Douglas County School District and the Douglas County Federation of Teachers for opening up to the public their recent contract negotiations. With negotiations typically veiled in secrecy, transparency bodes well for the decision making process. We'll wait to see the results, but we expect that the needs of children will play a greater role than usual at this bargaining table.
