And Finally, the Release of NCTQ's State Teacher Policy Yearbook

On Wednesday, June 27 from 9 to 11 am here in Washington, NCTQ will be launching the first edition of our annual flagship publication. The State Teacher Policy Yearbook 2007 is a 51-volume encyclopedia--with a handy national summary--that not only takes an unparalleled look at what states are doing to improve teacher quality, but lays out a framework for what states should be doing.

The event features a debate moderated by Ed Sector's Andy Rotherham to help answer the pressing question of the day, "Who does NCTQ think it is telling states what to do?" featuring Massachusetts ed school commissioner David Driscoll and state licensing officials who have taken issue with our approach. We'll also host a panel of ed school deans to look at the complex and sometimes complicit relationship between states and ed schools, featuring David Steiner from Hunter College and Tom Lasley from University of Dayton.

And don't miss NCTQ's full frontal attack on Washington's love affair with the carbohydrate.
