Lane Wright Director of Communications and Advocacy
Lane comes to NCTQ with more than 18 years of experience in strategic communications and education advocacy. He started his career as a broadcast journalist for TV stations in Richmond, VA and West Palm Beach, FL before helping establish a Florida-based political news site called Sunshine State News. Those experiences led him to a role as press secretary for Florida's 45th governor where he got his first taste of education policy. As a young father, improving educational prospects for children resonated deeply with Lane and he went on to serve at a variety of education advocacy orgs including StudentsFirst, TNTP and brightbeam. Those organizations gave him the opportunity to lead internal and external communications work, including major advocacy initiatives aimed at improving education for all kids.
